Two Main Types of Gutters
You know you need new gutters, but you did not know that there are so many options to choose from! From the shape of the gutter to the material involved, there is a variety of options when you begin to discuss replacing it. Depending on your home, the type of gutter that will work best for you may be different from the one that works best for you neighbor. If you think you need to replace your gutters for your home in Denver, Morrison, Golden or any other town in the area, Horn Brothers Roofing would be happy to guide you through the process.
There are two types of gutters to choose from, each with their own benefits depending on the style of your home:
K-Style
These gutters are the most common in the United States because of the way they mimic the colonial style crown molding. Their curved semi-circle design fits well aesthetically with both classic and modern homes. One of the greatest benefits of this type of gutter is the way it fastens to your home. Because it can be nailed directly into your home’s fascia board, it does not require excessive installation brackets. These gutters can be purchased either pre-cut or at whole length depending on whether you prefer a seamless gutter or one that assembles at the seams.
Half-Round
These gutters are found most commonly on homes with a rounded roof line. These also tend to work well with homes made out of copper or steal. The kind of this gutter works best with older homes with more classic and expensive designs due to its curled outer-edge. This design can be as elaborate as the home-owner prefers and is willing to pay for. The installation for these tend to be a little more tedious, also contributing to the price, because they must be installed with the proper hangers and brackets.
